Biography

I am a writer, a printer, a performer, and an artist.

As the foundation for a larger body of work I call a series, my writing is autobiographical in many respects. I typically address quasi-spiritual/philosophical issues related to love/loss, an opening of oneself through self-inquiry, and the dynamic nature of humanity.

I work in a multidisciplinary way, using materials required by the language and imagery of my writing. My performance writing is often printed to become hand made books or broadsides. My performances have been both live and recorded in video.

In all cases, my goal is to open a dialogue about issues that may have at one time been difficult to discuss. In asking the viewer and reader to invest in areas previously unexplored, my goal is create work that leaves one open, grounded, and present. My work has often been referred to as meditative, quiet and challenging. I believe this challenge relates to the fast pace we have grown accustom to in our daily lives. Through my work, I ask that we slow down to explore the intricate and intimate beauty of the world. Because in the end, though we may be exposed to a vision we may prefer never to have seen, our vision is created from our core. Challenging as it may be, vision is evolutionary, changing as we grow, as we become more aware of the frank openness and beauty of a vast world we may have never before seen.
