I Sweat My Sickness Coating my face with olive oil, I stretched out face down on a raised full-length pillow. My head stretched out over the end and one foot above a round steel pan filled with water in a rolling boil. As the water boiled, the steam billowed up as I read the text aloud. Throughout the reading the steam coated my oily skin creating a layered effect. Eight chairs were placed in an intimate circle around me for viewing. This piece references “Co(a)ld Pressed” and “The Third Movement” as they were performed in the same year. This piece was performed in 2003 at the University of Nevada, Reno.
